This was an incredibly complicated piece to make. The back plate is the base of an old pocket watch. On top of that I added a carved bone "face" cabochon, and surrounded the edge with lots of tiny little watch parts. A few gears were added here and there and then the whole thing was sealed in several coats of clear lacquer for a snag-free finish. The pin measures approximately two inches across at the widest point.
All of my jewelry is one of a kind, because I only use vintage parts. When they're gone, they're gone.
No working or antique clocks or watches were harmed in the making of my jewelry. I value the past, and only use items that are at the end of their recycling life.
