This necklace came about because the mechanism is stuck inside the case, and I couldn't get it out without ruining the enamel finish.  Just as well, because it inspired me to create a little collage on the back side and fill it with resin.  The chain is handmade using vintage jet beads and 1920's French pressed glass beads.  There is a pair of earrings to match.
