This very fun necklace features some very painstaking lacquer work. The brass frames were first lacquered black, and then the little brass gears and watch hands were added. Three layers of clear lacquer were then added on top, until a nice sturdy finish was achieved. I built the chain with filigree and brass bar beads alternating with the lacquer pieces.
